Description
Experience the beautiful, rugged landscape of the Northern Rocky Mountains on this 10 day 1:1 Trophy Moose Hunt with plenty of opportunity to add extra species. Options to hunt with a bow or rifle. The outfitter's area is 3,500 square miles and encompasses some of the best big game hunting in British Columbia. This unique area dates back to the Skook Davidson days and is considered one of the best hunting areas in British Columbia. This outfitter has done a lot of wildlife enhancement burns through out the area and pride themselves in their management practices. With the remoteness of their guide area it provides clients with great opportunity of harvesting older age class animals. This outfitter is very excited about their management practices and look forward to many years of producing top quality animals. At the beginning of the season, outfitter will start the season with exclusive Moose (1×1 10- day) as well as Combo hunts (1×1 12- day), typically by horseback or riverboat and include another species like Mountain Goat or Caribou. Canadian Moose are velvet but hard horned and later in fall, their antlers are fully stripped while the bulls are in the Rut. As the weather changes, the hunt changes and gets even more exciting with dropping temperatures. Very close calling encounters are more than frequent. This is a 1:1 fully guided 10 day hunt.

Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.
Description
This area covers over 3,500 square miles, and offers opportunities to hunt in both the Gataga and Kechika River Drainages of the Northern Rockies. This unique remote area has no road access , and is based at the end of the Rocky Mountain Chain. This outfit has been in the guiding and Outfitting industry for 20+ years. Running areas in BC as well as the Yukon. They have guided in BC, Yukon, NWT, and Alberta. They offer some of Northern B.C.'s finest hunting experiences in this remote area with quality Big game hunts. Moose can be hunted by themselves on a 10 day 1:1 hunt by Horseback or Boat. Hunter may also do a combination hunt which changes your hunt to 12-13 days and includes a second trophy of Goat or Caribou. This is by far their most popular hunts! The cost of the extra days hunting pays for you second trophy as well as the time it takes to travel to and from this area it seems hunters wish to maximize there stay.

During the hunt, meals will be a combination of hearty comfort food, supplemented by freeze-dried food (Peak Refuel) on those late nights and days where it is necessary to ‘pack light’. Any special diets and requests will be accommodated to the best of outfitter's ability.

Outfitter suggests that hunter comes well prepared, both mentally and physically. This will also make the hunt the best it can be and an adventure of a lifetime. Finally, as mountain weather changes quickly thru areas, it can interrupt hunting. In that case, take advantage of the down time to rest up and relax.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Being that remote claims its own requirements and unique ways. Therefore, the outfitter will pick up the hunter with their own aircraft or charter-an exclusive flight with one of our trusted local Airlines. If hunter intends to travel via commercial airlines, hunter will connect via Edmonton or Vancouver with the final destination being Fort Nelson, Toad River or Whitehorse, BC. Upon hunter's arrival, the outfitter or one of their partners will be there to pick hunter up and transport to the airstrip. It takes flights from approximately 30 minutes (Toad River), over one hour (Fort Nelson) to four hours (Whitehorse) to reach the Mountain Lodge. For those wishing to take their own airplane, please contact us directly in order to coordinate your trip.

Description

Outfitters are certain that big game meat and care is a big part of the hunting expedition and are aware that traveling great distances does not always provide the privilege of taking meat home. For those who want to spend an effort in doing so, outfitter will find an individual way. In general, bringing a freezer or coolers with allow to keep meat in the best possible condition for the trip home. Anything else will be processed properly and used in camp. Once an animal is down, a guide will provide the basics of field care of the trophy and properly prepare it for transport. At the Lodge, the outfitter and staff will professionally take care, salt, dry, and get it ready for shipping. At the end of the season, outfitter will prepared for the pickup of all trophies and hides personally while they look after the permits necessary to crate and ship them to the taxidermist of hunter's choice. All additional shipping fees are at the expense of the client. At the end of each hunt every client will need to sign a ‘Guide Outfitter Declaration’, a ‘Record of Receipt for Transporting Wildlife’ form and provide the outfitter with your taxidermist name and contact info.It is important that the hunter has the right gear which will keep the hunter comfortable and safe. As a reminder what to bring, a gear list can be requested when booked. Please limit personal gear to 60 lbs coming into camp due to number of passengers and weight limitations on our flights. Before the hunt, the outfitter will go through gear with each hunter to make sure you only take what you will need, if desired.
